Verbier 4Vallées will get a new lift connection between Verbier and La Tzoumaz. The combi-mix cable car and chairlift has been planned for a while, but until now there is still opposition to the construction and so Televerbier cannot go ahead with building. Hopefully this will be resolved by next year, so that we can enjoy this beautiful connection between Hameau and Savoleyres.
Hameau/Esserts – Savoleyres
The connection Verbier – Savoleyres has never been perfect. From Savoleyres it is easy to ski back to Verbier and for residents of La Tzoumaz it is the perfect way to start the day. The way back is a bit more complicated with a bus/lift connection or a difficult initerary called Vallon d’Arbi (only for advanced skiers).
The new lift Verbier – Savoleyres
The new lift of the ‘Esserts-Savoleyres’ project will provide the perfect solution. Skiers will be able to ski from Ruinettes/Carrefour through a tunnel and over a path towards the combi-mix lift in Hameau. The new lift will depart just below the Carrefour road towards a middle station at Le Planards (restaurants Le Namasté en La Marmotte). From here skiers could stay on the lift and continue to the top of Savoleyres.
Kids garden and artificial snow
The new project will replace the old cable car from Chalet Adrien (Les Creux) and the Le Sud T-bar. There are also some rumours that the Swiss Ski School is planning to create a huge kids garden between the middle station and the restaurants and there is a plan to build artificial snow making machines on the way down to Les Esserts.
